Eternity

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Cor 4, 18

Author: J.K.

There is something deep in all of us that can not tolerate transience. It is difficult to bear that something temporary exists and then no longer exists. It is a little frightening. We are afraid of our own transience, the transience of our feelings, and all around us. We'd like somehow to catch the time. We seek the reason and value of our existence and everything we do.

Because of that, those moments of passionate love, the attraction, and fondness of two human beings to one another, we want to make it eternal, so that they never pass. We have need to think about love that is happening in time, as the eternal and the only true.

This is also the reason for human recollection of our jubilees.  We do not want any events to fall into oblivion. We want them to have eternal significance and value.  For that reason, we want to do something big and valuable. We want  others to remember us. That's why we often get melancholic, especially when we see how we are getting older and passing.

This is being a man... We all strive for eternity and eternal values. That's deep in us. However, no matter how we strive to do so, we can't reach eternity in transient things.  Eternal things are invisible, inaccessible, and untouchable to our senses. Eternity can only be found with the "eyes" of faith.  With the eyes of faith, we must accept that all visible things and all our values are created from the invisible and the spiritual. That Meaning is given to us and  surrounds us.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Heb 11:3

The reason and value of our existence are not in ourselves. All existing things it`s beginning has in God. Without Him, by itself, everything is transient. But all our love, and all our efforts and reason have value in God and for Him. God simply is. He is everlasting.

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1:18

The invisible and inexpressible God had becomen visible and tangible through His Son Jesus Christ two thousand years ago. The eternal God, who is the Spirit, and whom no one has ever seen or touched was revealed in time, in the human body. He became visible and tangible to humans, and He overcame death and rose again. God has shown Himself to us most clearly.  He showed His character and His will.  He did all this from love, to show us the Way to eternal life, and to encourage our hope and faith.
